Haven Desktop and Haven Vault

The licence
Haven Holding Company L.L.C grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software on machines you own or control. You may not redistribute it, resell it, rent it out, or reverse-engineer it except to the extent that applicable law says you may regardless of this clause.
The trial and subscription
Haven Desktop is free to use for 30 days from first launch. No payment details are taken at the start of the trial and nothing begins charging automatically. At the end of 30 days you will be invited to subscribe. If you do not, the software stops providing the paid functionality; your files remain yours and remain accessible.
Haven Vault is free, with an optional paid tier purchased through the Mac App Store and governed by Apple's terms as well as these.
What the software is, and is not
Haven products provide presence-based access control. They are not anti-spoofing systems, and we do not represent them as protection against a deliberate presentation attack — a photograph, a recording or a mask. This is stated plainly in the product and on this website because we would rather you understood the limit than trusted it wrongly.
You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Because nothing is stored on our systems, we cannot recover your files, your enrolment or your activity record under any circumstances.
Liability
The software is provided as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Haven Holding Company L.L.C is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for unauthorised access obtained by any means. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Nothing in these terms removes any statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections applying where you live.
